53 percent of American adults play video games.

It’s not just Junior who’s sneaking off to play Mario Kart. More than half of us older folks like to get our game on, with 21 percent admitting that we play every day or almost every day, according to a recent survey by the Pew Research Center. Not surprisingly, younger adults play more than older adults—81 percent of 18- to 29-year-olds versus 23 percent of the 65-and-older set—though teenagers blow everyone away at 97 percent. Computers rank as the most popular device to play games on, followed by consoles, cell phones, and portable gaming devices. Now if you’ll excuse us, we have a princess to rescue.
