Santa Fe’s new spa gets you back on your feet.

New Mexico calls itself the land of enchantment, and nowhere does that nickname ring truer than Encantado , one of the state’s newest resorts. Located about 10 minutes from Santa Fe, Encantado opened last year under the auspices of the same group that operates the popular Auberge du Soleil in Napa Valley.

Travelers with an hour to spare will want to head straight for Encantado’s 10,000-square-foot spa that includes men’s and women’s outdoor garden soaking tubs, 15 treatment rooms, and a 1,200-square-foot fitness center. Give your tired feet a dose of shock therapy with the Chili Pepper Foot Warmer ($75), a 30-minute treatment that hydrates your dogs with a blend of honey and chili peppers after a brief peppermint soak.

If you have extra time, opt for the Private Adagio ($150), a new treatment offered only during the summer opera season. The 90-minute session includes an espresso mud body scrub and a full-body massage, all set to light opera music. Just try to avoid calling for an encore.
