That’s Portland, Oregon, not Maine. (Sorry, Mainers.) The City of Roses comes up smelling like its namesake in AutoVantage’s annual Road Rage Survey, moving up a spot from 2008 to take the title as the American city with the most courteous drivers. Drivers in last year’s winner, Pittsburgh, apparently got a little more rage-filled in 2009, as the city dropped to No. 5, preceded by Sacramento, California (No. 4); Baltimore (No. 3); and Cleveland (No. 2). On the other end of the spectrum, New York City topped the list of cities with the most angry and aggressive drivers, followed by Dallas/Fort Worth, Detroit, Atlanta, and Minneapolis/St. Paul.
